Join Memphis Youth Musical Theater for the first annual "The Sound of Music Festival!” at Shelby Farms Lawn and Stage on the Hyde Lake! Memphis's very own gem MEMPHIS YOUTH MUSICAL THEATER will be celebrating the joys of spring through the native language of all Memphians: music! Bring family, friends, blankets & chairs. Picnic and party with the cast through a fast paced show with one beloved hit after another. This production is directed by Guyla Wanderman, with choreography by Alyssa Abbas. Preshow! Look for Captain Von Trapp marching around the lake with his children, and join along and march (in costume or not!). Chat with the the Nuns as they do their joyful work, and yodeling contest with Maria and Von TRAPP kids, offstage after the show!
Thank you for your donations to this event! This event is free to the public, however donated ticket prices insure a "dot" for closer viewing. Tickets should be purchased for each family member or friend that want to attend your group. Children ages 2 and under are welcome and no donation is asked! When you arrive, your family or friend group that has purchased tickets should select a dot for social distancing, marked “RESERVED” on the ground near the stage. Throw your blanket or chairs over the middle of the dot.
